Macintosh

Pinpoint Travel works on the Apple Macintosh! However, there are some specific requirements Mac users should note below. (These are the same Mac environments that our engineers use to develop Pinpoint Travel.)

If you are seeing this page, it is probably because you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer for Macintosh. This browser is old, and there are many better alternatives that you could choose. If this:

is the icon for your browser, you are using IE. We think you should stop right now, and switch to something better.

Use these instructions to switch your browser from IE to something else. It is actually quite difficult to do this on IE, so we've provided these details. Why? Certainly because we want you to be able to use Pinpoint Travel. But also, and we are sincere about this, because we want you to have a better browser at all the sites you visit.

To try Pinpoint Travel on your Macintosh, you will need:

• Apple Operating System Mac OS X Version 10.2 (Jaguar) or 10.3 (Panther). Pinpoint Travel does not work on Mac OS 9 or earlier.
  
  
• Internet Browser: Mozilla FireFox 1.0, Camino 0.8+, Mozilla 1.6+, Opera 8.5+ or Safari (caveat: Safari is somewhat of a problem. There are 3 major versions of Safari out there, and many minor versions within those. Unless you have the latest Mac OS version (10.4 "Tiger"), chances are your Safari will have problems with Pinpoint Travel. And many web sites, for that matter.)

  Pinpoint Travel will not work with Microsoft Internet Explorer on the Mac.

Mac OS 9 Users

If you are using Mac OS 9 (or older) or Microsoft Internet Explorer on your Mac, you will need to instead change to one of the newer environments above to use Pinpoint Travel. This is one of the many hard choices we have had to make regarding browser support. Supporting OS 9 would force us to make big changes in the way Pinpoint Travel works, and it wouldn't be fair to the 99% of other users to compromise their experience to that degree. Sorry.
